“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God
as a workman who does not need to be ashamed,
accurately handling the word of truth.”
2 Tim 2:15
I hope you had a blessed week. This familiar verse needs our attention: “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.” (2 Cor 5:17). Guys, being “in” Christ, we are a “new” person. The question I would ask, are we image-bearers for Jesus Christ?
ZION BOOT CAMP
Please calendar the date above. We will be opening registration soon, Our main speakers are, Jerry Bangert, John Hartshorn, Winston Parker and Lee Yih. We successfully negotiated not only having our conference at SpringHill Suites, but we will be rooming at SpringHill. This is great news.
Let me share how Zion impacted a few of the men:
“The Zion Boot Camp event has helped moved me from a lukewarm new believer to a life-long disciple of Christ. What brings me back each year is the time spent with other men, of all walks and denominations, as we grapple with the deep questions of our Faith. The Zion Boot Camp is a consistent highlight of my year.”
Doug Taber, CCIM
“Every time I come to Zion Boot Camp, I am so very grateful that Jesus has blessed me with such a strong group of “real deal” Christian men to help guide me (or back) to the path, purpose and plan God has for my life. My clock is ticking and I have wasted most of the past years on non-Kingdom things. If it weren’t for this group and my parents influence, I may have wasted the rest of anytime I have left.”
“The Zion retreat was a pivotal moment in my Christian walk. It was a moment of great sadness, in discovering that I was that Lukewarm Christian Jesus was talking about. Thank God for that day.”
Coach Jermone Riley, FCA
I pray you all had a great Father’s Day. I wanted to pass on this short article by Tim Challies, “All the Compressions of All the Tender Fathers”
My Father’s Day was great, not only because I had my son Mark and his family with us, but I was able to have a moment with our server while my family was walking about outside. This server, Jolene, I have spoken with in the past, but this time had a tender conversation about the “life changing” Gospel of Jesus Christ. She still has lots of questions, but promised to read Steps To Peace With God. Pray for Jolene…….
Much Love in Christ,
Loved this quote a brother sent to me this week:
“The first gulp from the glass of natural sciences will turn you into an atheist, but at the bottom of the glass God is waiting for you.”
– Werner Heisenberg (The father of quantum physics)
Men: Please ponder this statement:
“Could it be that our Christian lives lack joy because following Christ costs so little?
Joy in Affliction – Day 173 Red Book
The purpose of these devotionals is to help you think Biblically
One of the brothers was impacted by this quote this week.
He said he wanted to print it out and frame it
“How many men or women are walking by faith with Jesus Christ this morning that were not a year ago as a result of your life!”
Shod Your Feet With the Preparation of the Gospel of Peace
“However, if we aren’t firm enough in the gospel in our own lives, I would suggest taking the gospel to others will be a challenge.”
Russia, One Divine Moment: Paul Eshleman
I was introduced to the “persecuted church” as a new believer. These ministries impacted my walk greatly. One of them was the Jesus Film Project. Early on, I called the director, Paul Eshleman, and challenged him as to the validity of these amazing stories. He was kind and patient and shared the diligent steps they take to make sure every event is documented with multiple witnesses.
I thought I would share some of these stories. Here is one that only God could orchestrate.
“BLESSED IS EVERY ONE THAT FEARETH THE LORD” (Psalm 128:1)
“IT IS THE LORD OF HOSTS WHOM YOU SHOULD REGARD AS HOLY. AND HE SHALL BE YOUR FEAR, AND HE SHALL BE YOUR DREAD.” (Isaiah 8:13)
Men: I thought it best to include the quote below by John Bunyan one more time.
Take a moment to reflect on this profound statement. He wrote his book, “The Fear of God” in 1679
Fear of God is a totally neglected theme in the church today…….
