N159 Nebula

Light would take about 230 years to cross this scene including the Papillon Nebula

For He spoke, and it was done;
He commanded, and it stood fast.
Psalm 33:9

Hi Men,

I hope your week has had those quiet moments in Christ. Slowing down to meditate on His Word and remembering that He is our All in All………. meaning “EVERYTHING”
We often take time in these letters to marvel at God’s handiwork. But here’s a question for all of us: Do we stop at admiring what He has made, or does that wonder lead us to worship Him?

We can become so absorbed in the daily demands of life—even good things, family responsibilities, and ministry opportunities—that we give little attention to the Lord Himself. We read about Him, talk about Him, and serve Him. But are we taking time to listen to Him through His Word?

Men, I need this reminder too. The God who made us and sustains our very next breath deserves more than whatever moments happen to be left at the end of our day. Let’s open our Bibles with expectant hearts, ready to listen—and willing to obey.

I love what Augustine said…..

“You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in you”

Listen below to what Dr. James Tour says about reading and meditating on the Bible.

PHOTO ABOVE

Men, I was having withdrawal from space photos, so I thought I’d share this newly released James Webb image of the N159 Nebula, in which the Papillon Nebula is a smaller part of the larger N159 region. Not only a jaw-dropping image, but here are a few facts:

  • 230 light-years across. Traveling at 186,000 miles/second, it would still take you 230 years!
  • 161,000 light-years away. N159 lies in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a neighboring galaxy.
  • Stars hidden in the clouds. Webb’s infrared vision reveals young stars tucked into dense gas and dust. The colors represent different infrared wavelengths.

Men, only God can do this! He spoke, and it came into existence. You could say, “He spoke—and BANG, it appeared!” All this beauty and immensity is His handiwork. Let’s give Him the glory—and let our wonder lead us to worship.

IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD

When I went to vote at a polling place a couple of miles from home, one of the women helping voters was incredibly kind and helpful.

After I finished voting, I said, “Now I have something for you.” I pulled out a Ten Commandments coin and gave it to her. She was so delighted that I gave her another!

We began talking about the Ten Commandments—how significant they were when we were growing up, and how readily people disregard them today.

Then I remembered the one gold-colored coin in my pocket. I told her I had a special one for her because she had been so helpful and enjoyable to talk with. Men, you would have thought I’d handed her a stack of hundred-dollar bills!

These little coins have the Ten Commandments on one side and a short Gospel message on the other: our sin, Christ’s death on the cross and resurrection, and the call to repent and trust Him. They also point people to NeedGod.com.

See the Ten Commandment Coins at Living Waters

I couldn’t take a photograph inside the polling place, but I can share this reminder: even there, we never know what conversation God may open.

No one’s political party will ever matter as much as their eternity

Men, that dear woman was more than someone helping me vote. She was a person whose soul matters to God. In all the noise of an election, are we still noticing the people He puts right in front of us?

IN CLOSING……

While my grandkids were with me, I had some quiet time with Ezra as I showed him where grandpa prays at night. We even prayed for a while….. truly a blessing!

May the good Lord pour His abundant grace upon you!
Dan
Gal 2:20

“For all the nations of the world are but a drop in the bucket. They are nothing more than dust on the scales. He picks up the whole earth as though it were a grain of sand.”
Isaiah 40:15 NLT

After reading that verse, you have no reason to get your shorts in a knot over anything!

AUDIO OF THE WEEK

Commitment to Training — Walt Henrichsen | 53 minutes

Men,
A dear brother sent me this message by Walt. I hadn’t listened to it in years. Even though this message was given toward the end of the Vietnam War, what he has to say is so relevant and eternally valuable! And those of us who are older: Think of the impact this could have on younger men and women!

“You’re dabbling in scripture memory. You’re dabbling in your quiet time. You’re dabbling in Bible study. You’re dabbling in evangelism.”

Well, are you?

That’s why Zion and our conferences across the country are so valuable: We make ourselves available to be trained in God’s Word by our teachers and encouraged by our brothers.

Take time to listen—and pass it on to a younger man.

LEE YIH FAMILY LETTER

Men, Lee and Miltinnie remind us that hospitality is ministry. Could our own dinner tables become places where others experience the love of Christ? Don’t forget to check out the Bible Verses in the letter….

Men, this is so good. It was written in 1948….. What about today? Yikes!!

LORD, TEACH ME TO LISTEN

“If you would follow on to know the Lord, come at once to the open Bible expecting it to speak to you. Do not come with the notion that it is a thing which you may push around at your convenience. It is more than a thing, it is a voice, a word, the very Word of the living God.”

“Lord, teach me to listen. The times are noisy and my ears are weary with the thousand raucous sounds which continuously assault them. Give me the spirit of the boy Samuel when he said to Thee, “Speak, for thy servant heareth.” Let me hear Thee speaking in my heart. Let me get used to the sound of Thy Voice, that its tones may be familiar when the sounds of earth die away and the only sound will be the music of Thy speaking Voice. Amen.”

— A.W. Tozer, The Pursuit of God, Chapter 6

DR. JAMES TOUR

LIFE’S ORIGIN AND THE LIMITS OF SCIENCE

Men, for those who don’t know Dr. James Tour, he’s a synthetic organic chemist and nanotechnologist at Rice University, featured in The Story of Everything. He challenges the brightest origin-of-life researchers in the world to explain specific chemical steps needed for nonliving matter to become a living cell. Tour presses researchers on these unresolved questions …. they don’t like being challenged!

I was one of those who believed in evolution when I was in college. I bought into the lies of the professors. We have to stand on Isaiah 40:28 and 45:18… God created the Heavens and the Earth and His understanding is beyond our grasp.

Listen to what Tour says about people who have written to him:

“Many people write to me that after what they learned in high school and in college about the origin of life and about evolution, they had abandoned their faith and walked away from it. And now they’ve heard my teachings on the internet about these things and they’re like, ‘Wow, I never should have left the faith. My life has been destroyed for leaving the faith. The decisions that I’ve made, and I’m coming back. I’m coming back to the faith.’”

Men, find 40 minutes this weekend to listen—and think of someone you could share it with, especially those that believe in the destructive theory of evolution. So many people hate “Truth”….. why, because that is what Jesus is: “I am the way, the truth and the life”

Be Prepared To Give An Answer

by Skip Tschantz | Oct 26, 2026 | Articles, and Testimonies

“Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us…”
— 2 Corinthians 5:20a (NASB1995)

Men, if someone asked why you have hope in Jesus, could you give him a clear answer?

Skip Tschantz, who will be joining us at Zion, points to two ways to prepare. In his words:

  1. “Our personal testimony of what Jesus has done in our lives”
  2. “The teaching of the Scriptures.”

But how we speak matters too. Skip includes this old saying:

“If the message offends then so be it — but if the messenger offends then shame on you”

Are we prepared—and does our manner help people hear? Make sure you read Skip’s 2 Minute article:

 PREACH CHRIST OR NOTHING

Men, are we keeping Christ and His cross at the center?

— Charles Spurgeon, Lectures to My Students
