What’s Going On in West Virginia?

Hi Men:
I pray that Jesus has been at the forefront of your mind throughout the week. After all, without Him you can do nothing (John 15:5).
Thanks for your patience with my delay in getting this Friday letter out to you. My wife and I attended a wedding in West Virginia for our daughter-in-law’s sister, then traveled to Charlotte to spend time with our other son and family. Upon returning, I jumped into more of the logistics of our upcoming Zion Boot Camp.

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THOSE “HARE KRISHNA” GUYS IN THE AIRPORTS DRESSED IN ROBES AND HANDING OUT FLOWERS WITH A TAMBORENE IN THEIR HAND?
Well, my wife and I found their temple in West Virginia of all places. In the hills outside Moundsville, WV, you will find the New Vrindaban Temple. They were donated thousands of acres and settled there.
The photo at the top are 2 brothers, Gaura and Nitai. They descended to this world just over 500 years ago in West Bengal, India……… oh sure!
Here I am standing on the stairs of the Prabhupada Palace of Gold. One newspaper said, “It’s hard to believe that Prabhupada’s Palace is in West Virginia. In fact, it’s hard to believe it’s on this planet.” Yes, it belongs in a Star Trek episode 🤠
Anyway, I could go on and on. The idol worship was “over the top!” They even had a “god store” where you could buy dozens of gods to help you worship effectively. I took a short 28 second video if interested: Watch it on YouTube
Years ago, there was a big influx of hippies drawn to this place. George Harrison of the Beetles was a big benefactor, along with Henry Ford’s great-grand son. The place gave us the creeps. If not for the grace of God, I could be living at this place……. Yikes!

WELL, HOW ABOUT BOSIE, IDAHO?
Many of you know our brother, Jorge Hernandez (on the left). Some years back he was in a car that exploded and the doctors gave him a minus 5% chance of survival. He lost both of his legs, but if you ask him, he will boldly tell you that accident “saved his life!” Jorge is active with FCA and his church. He is a delight to be with and loves to share the Good News of Jesus wherever he goes. Here is Jorge’s Testimony from Zion Boot Camp 2021 (YouTube 40 Mins)
Jorge gave me permission to share this. Last week, he was in Bosie, Idaho for a “Wheel Chair Rugby” tournament. He was picked up at the airport by a young man, Quinton. Jorge had a divine encounter with him. Quinton identifies as a “transgender.” Jorge spoke the “Truth wrapped with grace and the Love of the Father over him.” He shared the Gospel of Christ and had Quinton read John 1:1-14. The Holy Spirit gave understanding, the Word came alive and Jorge prayed over him. Quinton told Jorge how depressed he was. God knew to send Jorge to Boise to show this lost soul the Love of Christ!

One more very special announcement. God has placed a young lady in Jorge’s life. Her name is Astrid and she is from Guatemala. Astrid loves the Lord and they both believe God may have plans for the two of them to be united as one sometime next year. This is so exciting. I will keep you posted.

* Pray for God’s will regarding the future of Jorge and Astrid.
