World’s Largest Salt Flat
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by people.” ~ Jesus (Matt 5:13)
Hi Men:
I pray you had an “peace-filled” week in Jesus Christ. I was speaking with a dear friend and were discussing this verse from Psalm 27:14
“Wait for the Lord;
Be strong and let your heart take courage;
Yes, wait for the Lord.”
In the midst of trials and tribulations, we need to “WAIT” That last thing we need to do is rush ahead in fear, taking shortcuts that could very well come back to bite us. Also, as men, we tend to fix things on our own strength. How well does that work? This verse calls us to courageous patience—the kind that refuses to flinch, compromise, or give up.
Spend some time reflecting on the above verse this weekend.

This salt deposit in Bolivia took me by surprise. I had never heard of them until I read that NASA uses them calibrate their earth observation satellites because no other surface on Earth is as flat and reflective on such a large scale. Here are a couple more photos:
Here are some amazing facts about this salt flat:
- Largest salt flat on Earth – over 4,000 square miles wide!
- Ultra-flat surface – varies only centimeters across its vast span
- Natural mirror effect – during rainy season, reflects sky perfectly
- Massive lithium reserve – holds ~1/3 of the world’s lithium supply
- And we all know the huge need for lithium right now!
- Hexagonal salt patterns – forms naturally due to evaporation
- Cactus-covered islands – like Isla Incahuasi, with remnants of ancient lakes
- Stunning night skies – mirror creates surreal “double sky” stargazing
They even have a salt hotel: Palacio de Sal on the edge of the salt flats. Guess what the elevation is at the salt flat. Correct: Almost 12,000′ above seal level…… wild!!
IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD & DOWN THE STREET
Meet Jamari. On Wednesday, just 2 blocks from my home, there was a construction crew running new electrical lines to one of my neighbors. As I walked up to one of the road safety guys, before I cold say anything, he extended his arm, said hi and shook my hand. That was the beginning of an amazing set of events. So many things have happened, let me try to condense this in bullet points:
- I shared Steps To Peace With God – He said he prays to Jesus
- He doesn’t have a church and wants to get baptized
- He would like a Study Bible, so I walked back home.
- I returned with a new Evidence Study Bible and a bunch of other stuff
- His co-workers wanted me to continue talking to him and took over his position
- We walked across the street and had an amazing conversation.
- We even discussed John 1:1-5 – showing him Jesus in those 5 verses
- Jamari has been struggling and asked Jesus for help that morning.
- Jamari lives on the opposite end of Las Vegas, so I contacted a dear friend and Jamari will meet up this Sunday with my friend to meet others at the church.
- I will set a date to visit with Jamari and start the Discipleship Bible Study books. He wants to bring his older brother if he’ll come.
- Jamari is age 19 and wants to eventually join the Navy.
- Please pray for Jamari……. thank you!
I will keep you posted. God continues to astound me…….. Someday I hope to finish one of my walks around the neighborhood 🤠
Amazing Grace,

What will Jesus say to Pope Francis on
judgment day?
Works don’t matter. Titles don’t matter. Power doesn’t matter.
Being born again is all that matters.

A couple quotes from Geo. Washington
“Bless O Lord the whole race of mankind and let the world be filled with the knowledge of Thee and Thy Son, Jesus Christ.”
📖 — From Washington’s personal prayer journal, Mount Vernon archives
“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports… Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.”
📖 — Farewell Address, September 19, 1796
Right now there are so many polar-opposite views as I reflected on Washington’s statements. It seems pretty clear that any political movement or nation that believes it can outsmart or operate independently of God, is not only arrogant, but also on a path to self-destruction. Genuine patriotism involves upholding the moral and spiritual principles that sustain a free and just society.
Plus, as scripture reminds us:
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” — Proverbs 9:10
