Northern Lights – March 2022

Hi Men:
Well, tell me….. how was your week? Did you make a concerted effort to practice being in the “Presence of God?” Or …… did you allow constant interruptions to slip through, while noticing that your smart phone is now permanently attached to your hand, checking social media and having a dose of “murder in your heart” for the guy typing a text sitting motionless in his car after the light turned green? If so, here are a few amazing verses (Ephesians 3:16-19) to help you re-center and pray for yourself and others on just who we are “in” Christ:
“May the Father grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.”

NORTHERN LIGHTS
Last month, the northern lights (aurora borealis) were spectacular for those more north than us desert guys.
WHAT IS THE AURORA BOREALIS? Energized particles from the sun’s corona creates a solar wind that slams into Earth’s upper atmosphere at speeds of up to 45 million mph!…. that’s faster than your Tesla 😊 Yet our planet’s magnetic field protects us from the onslaught and redirects the particles toward the poles. This dramatic process transforms into a cinematic atmospheric phenomenon that dazzles skywatchers and confounds the scientists. Why? Atmospheric Scientists are not sure how the energized particles in the solar wind get accelerated to their extraordinary speeds of 45 million mph. NASA is also befuddled on how the northern lights work. That is one of the reasons they launched the Parker Solar Probe in 2018:

Movie of the Week
Acts Of The Apostles (1994) – 3 hours 12 minutes
Men: My wife found this movie by accident. We had never seen it and because it was produced 28 years ago, we though it might be a bit dated and corny. To our surprise it was really great. The acting totally amazed us…… and for us older guys you will recognize the main actors: Dean Jones, Jennifer O’Neill, James Brolin, etc. They did a great job. Even though it is long (although not as long as a Super Bowl), I highly recommend it and it doesn’t deviate from the scripture at all. Plan a time to watch it…… you won’t be disappointed.
