Hi Men:
When I send out calendars, I have the option to choose my own photo for the sending page. The photo above is what I used…. It’s from the state where I was raised as a kid – Wyoming. Many of you know the backdrop, the Teton Mts. w/ the Snake River in the foreground. The verse I decided on came in handy as you will see in the next paragraph.
Well, never a dull moment. My wife and I are headed to Santa Maria, CA tomorrow morning to meet up with our boys et al for Christmas, but early this afternoon, one of the horses was colicking. Colic is the #1 medical cause of death in horses and it can happen quickly. So we can still enjoy our family over Christmas, Jane dropped her horse off at the vet clinic and they will monitor it. The odds are in our favor that the horse will come around. This is another reminder that we are “not in control” and never will be. Another great reason to keep our eyes on eternity.

I visit with my niece, Kristin, almost every Wed at my office. Her husband Ron has a fatal Glioblastoma brain tumor. They have 2 young daughters. We were discussing the Sovereignty of God. She asked a great question last week. “Uncle Dan, why does most every religion say they are the one true religion? Like, Muslims, Hindus, Catholics, Mormons, etc?” We discussed that and then the question arose about the goodness of God….. a loving God. I share the same story that I have shared numerous times. I told her about this small nation of people in the Old Testament called the Israelites. God picked them as His “chosen people.” Why didn’t he chose the Amalekites, Chaldeans or Assyrians? On top of that, the 1st stop for Joshua was the fortified city of Jericho. The people of Jericho saw these crazy Israelites marching around their city. Can you imagine a young Canaanite woman inside the secure walls of Jericho fixing some food for her two little children. On the 7th day she hears a shout from outside the walls and then a terrifying thunderous noise as the walls collapse. A short time later an Israelite soldier kicks in her door, takes his sword and sticks the 2 little children and cuts the mother’s head off. Then I say, “now tell me about your loving God?” Other than the harlot Rahab and her family, God commanded that all fall to the sword; men and women, young and old, oxen, sheep and donkeys (Joshua 6:21). Men, we need to consider these truths in order to gain Biblical wisdom. And we will only gain wisdom when we start to fear God. Like Hank Miltenberger said at Zion regarding Noah, “God saved 6 and drowned the rest. If you don’t like this God, then make up another one.”
As we move into Christmas, remember that God brought that little baby Jesus to the manger to ultimately have Him crucified for you and me. That should give us all pause!
Remember: No Meeting! Our next Friday meeting will be Dec 28th ……..

“But when the right time came, God sent His Son…………..” (Gal 4:4)
Red Book “God does not want you to fear HIM…… is a lie”
Lee’s Letter – Dec 2018 – This is really good!
Then He said to His disciples,
“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.”
