Spanish Dancer Galaxy – James Webb Space Telescope
60 million light-years – Dorado Constellation

Hi Men:
I pray this past week, you all found strength in Christ, allowing nothing to rob you of the peace He assures us in His Word. As it is written in Philippians 4:6-7: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
A very good word, right?

I am always amazed at the images the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is capturing. They just keep me on my knees in awe…… The photo above is officially called, “Spiral Galaxy NGC 1566.” I like the fact that they named it the Spanish Dancer Galaxy. Being in the Dorado Constellation makes me think that whoever named it must have been a fan of John Wayne in the 1966 western “El Dorado” haha!
Anyway, there’s a wealth of information available on this galaxy if you’re interested. You might also enjoy the YouTube video that NASA put together. If interested, read the three paragraphs under the video, as they provide insight into how much about these galaxies remains a mystery to scientists and astrophysicists. The YouTube was compiled with images mostly from the Hubble. Here you go:

IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD & DOWN THE STREET
I am so excited when I received this map with an attached letter (not shown). The county sewer department will be renovating some big sewer mains that run down my street. You will notice the second red bar (on the right) is directly in front of my house. In years past, I would have said, “Oh Crap” (no pun intended 🤠) ….. you know, the street will be closed for 1 month and getting in and out of my driveway will be a pain.
But not any longer……. why? I will be praying that the Lord puts a bunch of these workers in my crosshairs to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. I will keep you posted. God gave me a reprieve on breaking stuff inside my house to talk to the repair guys, so now they will all be in front of my house. A captive audience. It doesn’t get any better than this!! 🤠
What’s Going On In This Photo?
Last week, my dear wife mentioned that a missionary will be at church Sunday. I always love how God uses these brothers and sisters abroad. Well, I disappointed when I found out this particular missionary was from Northern California. When he got up to give his message, I was already saying to myself, ho-hum…. But then he started teaching from Romans 10:13-15
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on Him in Whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in Him of Whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
Ok, without going into a lot of detail, I had to repent. This brother, Anthony English, gave such a great message on evangelism, I would probably place it in the Top 10. Now this is funny……. At one point he gave an example of using the Million Dollar Bill. When he said that, a few people near me turned around and looked at me. Why? Because I’m always giving those and other tracts out in church, hoping something clicks. The kids “LOVE THEM” Well Anthony has some cred, so we’ll see what happens. He also shared this 59 Second YouTube Video of him w/ Ray Comfort. I gave Anthony a few more bills before he had to head back home (see photo). He texted me the following:
“Dan, God used those tracks you gave me. I was able to give the 2 presidential tracks out to my plane seat mates, one who was a female minister of a unity spiritualist community. So thanks for being part of my evangelism story.”
I’m staying in touch with this brother. He is so enthusiastic about sharing the Good News!

We often find ways to justify almost anything. There are countless videos out there, but let me share this short one with you (about 7 minutes). This African-American pastor, whom I hadn’t heard of before, uses the term ‘Biblical Worldview’ – how refreshing and rare that is! If you believe in the God of the Bible, it might be difficult to see how you could oppose the points he makes in his message. But as I said, we can justify almost anything. By the way, did you know that 40 million registered voters who identify as faith-based aren’t voting in this year’s elections – and that an additional 15 million faith-based individuals aren’t even registered to vote? That statistic was an eye-opener……..

God’s Solution to Anxiety
Dear Friends,
Take a minute to consider if anything has you experiencing anxiety this day. What is it?
If anxiety is not a pernicious challenge for you, you can be assured that there are people in your midst plagued by it. Current events, global or personal, precipitate anxiety in all of us – how we respond can either mitigate anxiety or increase its effects. With the election now less than 30 days away, the ongoing wars in Israel and Ukraine, and the aftermath of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, there is no shortage of things to spur anxiety in human beings. Consider how you react to these things and consider how you might encourage those around you who don’t know or understand God’s sovereign Word. Who better to go to than the Creator and Sustainer of all?

“Becoming a Christian is free of charge. It costs the believer absolutely nothing: “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast” (Eph. 2: 8–9). But there is a cost attached to becoming a disciple. The cost is to become involved in God’s “thing” rather than our own. How easy it is for the Christian to become preoccupied with his dreams, his aspirations, his own little deal, and miss God’s perfect plan for his life.”
