Hi Men:
As you all know, God is 100% Sovereign. In light of a very disturbing week, were you able to keep God’s Sovereignty in the forefront of your mind? In addition, are you trusting “in” Christ and taking His yoke? Why? Because in light of everything going on right now, Jesus said in Matthew 11:29, “you will find rest for your souls.” That’s sounds pretty good right now! Right?

A buddy in Texas forwarded this image. I thought it was so cool (or hot🤠) because it was taken by a guy from Germany in his backyard with a Lichtenknecker 90/1350 telescope. The photographer is Robert Schumann and loves astrophotography. I like the fact that he photoshopped the image of our Earth next to it. By the way, did you know that about 820,000 Earths can fit inside the Sun? If any of your kids or grandkids can get that question right, take them out for ice cream! As you all know, the our Sun has been very active this year, evidence being the amazing photos of the Northern Lights. A random thought. If God sent out a large solar flare, but not so large to fry the Earth, it could literally shut down all electrical grids, communication and internet. So what would everyone do if they couldn’t watch TV, download music or immerse themselves in social media? I hope there wouldn’t be mass suicides 😮 Anyway, many might have to learn how to talk to their wife and kids; sit quietly with their own thoughts and actually see what God created that is right in front of their face. They might even have to pick up a real book and read it. Lord, please take control of our life and direct our steps……….

IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD AND DOWN THE STREET

Well it’s that time of year to get my system checked to see if I’m going to see another sunrise. So I had to head over for my bloodwork at Quest Diagnostics before my doctors appt next week. Some of you may remember my last visit with Cheyenne, the phlebotomist that did the blood draw last year (if interested, here was my visit with her: E²Vegas.org/Friday-Mens-Group-8-11-23)

This year I got Andrew, Cheyenne was at lunch. Andrew is deaf, but excellent at reading lips and was pretty good with his words. He was super nice, we were getting along great and he did a excellent job at drawing blood. I told him I have something for him and he said “What?” So I pulled out the Million Dollar Gospel of John and did my thing. He put his had up 🖐 and said, “Oh….. No Thank You!” I said are you sure and also explained Steps to Peace With God. He said, “I’m Sure!” His reaction didn’t surprise me totally, because he had several Gay Pride pins on his lab jacket. Although, I did get him to take the one tract, “Are You A Good Person?” For some reason, that only God knows, he wanted that one. We had a very pleasant good bye and he said he would give Cheyenne my best. Please pray for Andrew @ Quest.

Difference between Comfortable Christianity and Costly Christianity is spiritual reproduction. Few people are willing to pay that price

Men:
If I asked you what happened on Oct 7, 2023….. all of you would say that was the day Hamas massacred over 1,200 Israelis and took over 250 hostages. It’s in the news on a daily basis. As horrific as that was, how many know what’s going on in the DRC? Some of you may even have to scratch your head and ask, “What’s the DRC again?“
Most of you know who the Boko Haram are, but if I asked how many Christians in Nigeria were killed by them and other Islamic terror groups in 2023, would you know? The answer is 4998! You won’t find these atrocities on most media outlets, and if you do, it’s hard to ferret out the “true story.” If interested, here is a 4.5 minute report by the CEO of Open Doors. Islamic terrorist groups are growing exponentially.
Please pray for these precious souls and that God would intervene. He is our Only Hope!
