Jupiter

The heavens are telling of the glory of God;
And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.
Psalm 19:1

Hi Men:

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Eph 2:10)  I pray all of you continue to seek those good works that God planned for you before the foundation of the world.  This week I have been listening to several messages, but one truly impacted me.  It was by Ian Hamilton, a Scottish minister and Trustee for Banner of Truth.  His message was on the life of Amy Carmichael, born in 1867 in Northern Ireland.  She understood and lived Eph 2:10 serving the widows and orphans of India for 55 years.  If you are so inclined, listen to this message over the weekend, I think it will bless you greatly.  Share it with your wife and family.  Here is the link to Ian’s YouTube message:  AMY CARMICHAEL (50 mins)
One of Amy Carmichael’s prayers was:

“God harden me against myself,
The coward with pathetic voice who craves for ease, and rest, and joy.
Myself, arch traitor to myself.
My hollowest friend, my deadliest foe, my clog, whatever road I go.”

Amy Carmichael also had a profound impact on Jim Elliot’s wife, Elizabeth

JUPITER

Well of course you knew I was going to put the new image of Jupiter in the mix.  For the past several weeks, I have enjoyed looking at that very bright star in the Eastern Horizon.  Actually I can’t fool you guys anymore, you know that bright object in fact is not a star, but the planet Jupiter.  Just know, Saturn is also visible.  Many of you know the photo above is the latest image by the JWST (James Webb Space Telescope).  One area on Jupiter you’re all familiar with, is the “Great Red Spot” ….. but with the JWST it appears white due to its infrared camera and the sun’s reflection.   There are plenty of facts on this violent anticyclonic storm.  Our earth could easily fit in it, but we wouldn’t last too long.  The velocity of the winds at the edge of the storm are about 270-425 mph and the temperature of the storm is about 2500°F and scientists believe it’s been raging for over 350 years (just think what would happen if Hurricane Katrina sat over New Orleans for 350 years).

So where am I going with all this? ……..  We have this huge planet that God created and He set in motion a gigantic hurricane that is still not totally understood and yet God is completely in control of everything.  Let me say that again, God is 100% in control of EVERYTHING going on right now (what are those disruptive things you are thinking about right now?)  And Jesus said, “……….do not worry about YOUR LIFE….” (Matt 6:25-34) and Paul said, “Be anxious for NOTHING…..” (Phil 4:6-7).  So why in the world do we have our thoughts and emotions wrapped around the axle of the issues surrounding us?  That’s just where the Enemy wants us!  Jesus said, “Don’t worry about tomorrow………” and he made this wonderful statement, “But seek FIRST His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”  Men, these are the things we are to seek.  Now let’s go after them!

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely,
whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise,
think about these things.
(Phil 4:8)

Much Love in Christ,
Dan

MASTURBATING PASTORS
Bible Study from Hell

At our Friday meeting a few weeks back, one of the men was visibly upset when he arrived.  We asked him, what’s up?  He shared in detail what transpired at a Bible Study he was invited to with (2) pastors in attendance.  It wasn’t until he shared the depravity and gravity of what’s going on out there that it took on a whole different picture.   I asked him if he would write up what he experienced so we could share it with you.  The pastors involved have their own church which meets in a nice office building.  I would assume the majority of the congregation have no clue what these men are doing.  Their church logo is a blue flame…… the only thing that crossed my mind is the flame given off from burning sulfur: E² Vegas.org/Friday-Mens-Group-7-16-21

I have attached our brother’s write up of the Bible Study (See Attached:  Bible Study from Hell)

We have all read plenty of statistics regarding the use of porn:
“The survey conducted by the Barna Group revealed that 68 percent of Christian men
and 50 percent of pastors view pornography regularly………..”   Link: Click Here

“Evangelism is for every one of us–not because God needs us.
He alone builds His Church.  He gave us evangelism because  we need it.”

Willing to Be Foolish by Chris Martin

Men:  This article on evangelism is a must read.  It will only take you a few minutes.  Chris also included a message by Walt Henrichsen.

See Attached PDF: “Willing to Be Foolish”

The link below is to a message Walt Henrichsen delivered on the “Principles of Evangelism.” It is a phenomenal message with real tangible principles and training to encourage you in your journey.

NO SUCH THING AS TOO HARD MUSIC

Men:
About a year ago, I included this article in the Friday Letter.  I ran across it again and it is so well done, it needed to be reinserted for I am sure many of you didn’t have an opportunity to read it.  My wife passed it to me originally, so if your wife, daughter, daughter-in-law, friends needs a bit of encouragement, pass this article to them. It’s really well written.  Madelyn Canada did a great job!   She understands “Obedience”

A couple quotes from the article:

How often do we look at Him and say, “Lord, this piece is too hard” waiting for Him to change His mind and give us an easier one? It’s not “too hard” to follow Him, but it is costly. It can take longer than we’d like and require more than we want to give.

In fact, it requires our entire lives.

There is no such thing as “too hard” music. Neither is there such a thing as “too hard” obedience. Costly obedience, most definitely, sometimes unimaginably so. But in the words of Jim Elliot, “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose.” I am convinced that when we stand in glory and see the Savior’s face, we will not consider any cost to have been too great.

YouTube (2 Minutes)

Men:  One of the brother’s found this classic and profound message on YouTube.  If you haven’t listened to it, I encourage you to bookmark it and take some notes.  If you have listened to it, what a great refresher to re-focus the (3) areas we ask often:  1) Who Am I?     2) Why Am I Here?    3) What Am I Supposed to Do?  And if you haven’t figured out #3, let me give you a hint:  Jesus’ familiar parting words in Matthew 28:19    “Go therefore and _____  __________  of all the nations…”  and no……. it’s not plant churches.  Jesus said, “…….I will build My church…..”  When you get the correct answer, does it appear to be a command?

Emotion is no substitute for Action
Action is no substitute for Production

In the church today we see a lot of activity, but little production!

Men:  Next time you are with some of your Christian buddies, ask them if they “truly” fear the Lord.  Jesus said:

“Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul;
but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
(Matthew 10:28)
