A SNOWFLAKE

“He hurls His ice as fragments; Who can stand before His cold?”
Psalm 147:17

“The heavens tell of the glory of God;
And their expanse declares the work of His hands.”
Psalm 19:1

Hi Men:
With everything happening right now, I pray you remain mindful of the One who holds the Universe in His hands, appointing and removing leaders according to His perfect will. Positionally it’s critical that we have the mindset: “To Live is CHRIST!”
How much time have you spent with Him week?

“How full of the creative genius is the air in which these are generated!
I should hardly admire more if real stars fell and lodged on my coat.”
Henry David Thoreau – 1856

With the weather that much of the United States has incurred this past week, I thought it might be appropriate to revisit the SNOWFLAKE.
Kenneth Libbrecht, a professor of physics at CalTech (California Institute of Technology), once said,

“This stuff falls out of the sky, and we don’t know how it works.”

Each snowflake is unique, and brilliant minds like philosopher René Descartes and nuclear physicist Ukichiro Nakaya have tried to uncover why—yet even today, there’s no definitive answer. For instance, did you know the average snowball contains about 22,000 snowflakes? Or that approximately a million billion snowflakes fall every second around the globe—enough to make one snowman for every person on Earth every 10 minutes? Each winter, an estimated 1 septillion snowflakes fall, and yet no two are alike.

This too was interesting from Institute For Creation Research:
We now know that the crystal formation and shape are influenced by both temperature and humidity. The stunning six-limb, star-like crystals form in temperatures over 27°F. Between 27°F and 14°F, snow falls in in the shape of small prisms. Between 14°F and -8°F, they form small stars again, and below -8°F the prism shape returns.

If you’re curious, you can visit Ken Libbrecht’s website, and discover more than you ever thought possible about snowflakes. Truly amazing!

IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD & DOWN THE STREET

Guess who we saw yesterday?

That’s right! Lee & Miltinnie Yih were in Vegas for a few days. Jane and I had a delightful lunch with them. It was so great to see them. I had a great conversation with Lee and he shared his story of when he first met Walt Henrichsen and how that encounter changed his life. In a future Friday Letter, I hope to bless you with that story.

Let me tell you about our waiter….

His name was Eleazar. Lee told him that was a Bible name and our waiter knew that, but didn’t know that Eleazar was one of David’s mighty men and stood firm fighting against the Philistines when the other Israelites retreated. Our waiter mentioned that his mother is a Christian, but him, no so much. We gave him the Million Dollar Book of John, Steps To Peace with God and the other tracts. He was grateful and said he would read them later that night. Lee gave him his room # and said to call him and they could visit more. I pray that will happen.

(Gal 2:20)

Men, in light of what happened earlier this week at the National Cathedral, I believe we need to revisit why many “so-called” believers today choose to ignore the clear commands of Scripture.
Our Current Example:  Woman pastors
1 Tim 2:12 couldn’t be more clear…. “But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet.”  Even if a woman pastor is not in authority, she still is NOT allowed to serve as a pastor to men!
As Walt states below, His senses are dulled as he repeatedly ignores God’s commands.”

9 Guidelines for Developing a Culture of Evangelism with Your Church this Year

Evangelism has moved beyond church leaders (“who are supposed to do that”) to church members (“who are ordinary believers, just like me”)

Men:
This is a pretty good article by a guy that knows what he’s talking about. My favorite evangelist as most of you know, is Ray Comfort of Living Waters. But the guy that wrote this recent article is J.D. Payne. Check out his bio

Send it to your church buddies and see what they say.

Such a great quote!

“We give ourselves to prayer. We preach a gospel that saves to the uttermost, and witness to its power. We do not argue about worldliness, we witness. We do not discuss philosophy, we preach the gospel. We do not speculate about the destiny of sinners, we pluck them as brands from the burning. We ask no man’s patronage. We beg no man’s money. We fear no man’s frown. Let no man join us who is afraid, and we want none but those who are saved, sanctified and aflame with the fire of the Holy Ghost.”

Samuel Chadwick  1860-1932

“Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore, plead with the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.’
Matt 9:37-38
