Jesus Film Project Briefing – Texas 2026
This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.”
Matthew 24:14
Hi Men:
I pray you had a great week and have been reflecting on Ephesians 2:10
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
God has already prepared the works. Being “in” Christ, the strength is there, don’t get distracted or chase someone else’s calling. Walk in what He has set before you…

I don’t even know where to begin. As mentioned last week, my wife Jane and I just returned from the Jesus Film Project briefing in Austin, and it was beyond anything we expected. The theme of the weekend was: “every nation, every generation” taken from
“One generation shall commend Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts” Psalm 145:4
One huge blessing, was that we had our granddaughters with us (ages 9/10).

They had a fantastic time with all the other kids and were involved in so many activities. They also were able to see firsthand how the Jesus Film (from the Gospel of Luke) is translated and dubbed into other languages — how every word is carefully matched to the movement of the lips so that people around the world can see and hear the Jesus Film speak in their own heart language… their own dialect…. and testimony after testimony about so many deeply moved by the Holy Spirit responding to the Gospel.
Here are a “few” eye-opening facts:
- Most watched film in history – Funded by the Hunt Family in 1979
- Most translated film ever (2,200+ languages)
- 760+ million views in a single year (digital, broadcast, in-person)
- 20+ million decisions for Christ in one year
- Over 1 million people per day engage with Jesus-centered content online
- All resources are free
- Strong push into digital & mobile media (reaching people that spend 8–9 hours/day on their phones)
- Half the world is under 30 – major focus on younger generations
- Developing new films, short-form content, and tools for youth
They used a 23-minute segment of the Jesus Film to train the kids in dubbing.
Here’s a 24 second clip where my granddaughter voices Mary as Gabriel appears.
IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD
I had a great time in Texas giving out tracts and the Ten Commandment Coins. I would say about 20% of the weight of my suitcase is because of all the great stuff I brought.
Meet Lanora

Lanora was our hotel maid while we were in Texas. On one of the afternoons, I collected a set of tracts in Spanish and then slowly gave them to her. She was reading the titles of each one and was getting excited. But when I pulled out the New Testament in Spanish, she was super excited. My buddy Michael Larose in El Paso sent me these Gideon New Testaments. They have been a huge blessing.

Meet Omar from Cuba

Omar was our Uber driver back to the Austin Airport. Like Lenora, he spoke very little English. No sweat – I used English to Spanish and sent him a link to the Spanish Jesus Film and said this:
I wanted you to see this great video. Let me know what you think.
“Omar, espero que disfrutes esta historia de la vida de Jesús. Fui criado como católico, pero solo conocía a Jesús de nombre. Ahora tengo una relación personal y amorosa con Él, y ha cambiado mi vida por completo.”
“Omar, si tienes alguna pregunta, siéntete libre de enviarme un mensaje de texto en cualquier momento.”
Dan Russell
This was his reply using Spanish to English:
“Thank you very much Mr. Dan, without a doubt I will enjoy your video and I hope like you to be able to enjoy this feeling towards Jesus, thank you very much for everything. Have an excellent trip you and your family amen” 🙏🏽
So as they say in the movie industry, “That’s a wrap!”
I’ve been exploring the Jesus Film Project for many years, back when it was on VHS, then DVDs, and now on my phone for over a decade. I’d encourage you to download it and start using it. You’ll be amazed.” Scroll down for the download
Thank You, Jesus, for allowing us to be part of Your plan of salvation.
Dan

No one knows when God stops offering Himself to a person. When God stands at the door and knocks, it is best not to leave Him standing outside your heart.

One of the brothers texted me this yesterday:
Judgment belongs to God alone, but the call to share hope belongs to us.
Where is your ‘sense of urgency’… for your family, your friends, even those who oppose you? Love does not delay… love speaks… and love acts.
Today matters… eternity is real. And the message of Christ is too important to keep to ourselves… it’s an urgent call to action!

FATHER, I HAVE a problem. It’s weighing heavy on me. It’s all I can think about, night and day. Before I bring it to you in prayer, I suppose I should pray for those who are less fortunate than me—

Watch this powerful testimony. Our FCA brother, Jorge Hernandez, said the following:
Here’s a testimony from one of our students who the Lord saved through FCA. She’s been baptized and is being discipled. The Lord called her back to Foothill High School, where she graduated last year, and is now serving through FCA.

Here is our FCA brother, Andy Fetsis and his astounding Spring Newsletter. I love what Andy said in the letter:
We must be about the Lord’s business in these days seeking to invest our lives in the only two things that are eternal and last forever – the Word of God and the souls of people. Everything else will be laid waste (2 Peter 3:7-13). Invest in His Word! Invest in people!
Take a few moments and read through Andy’s spring update.

Men, here are three reports from Voice of the Martyrs.
They lose everything… but they will not let go of Christ.
Yasmin, from Yemen, who was forced to witness her husband dragged from their home and executed by Islamists affiliated with al-Qaida. VOM helped Yasmin and her four children move to another part of the country where a local community of Christians helps care for them.
Sister Rupa, from Nepal, who was beaten and cast out of her home for her faith in Christ. Front-line workers are helping her set up a small clothing business that will also serve as a platform for her to continue sharing the gospel.
Adamu Musa Ubandoma, from Nigeria, whose Muslim community attempted to burn him alive when they learned that he had become a Christian. He escaped, but burn marks are still visible on his head. All his belongings were burned and his cows confiscated, yet Adamu says that nothing will separate him from the love of Christ.
Nothing will separate them from Christ — nothing.
“…and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matt 28:20)
What Does It Mean to Abide in Christ?
John 15
Men: In our Christian walk, we hear a lot about abiding in Christ. This YouTube Video on Abiding in Christ was actually really good. Make sure you find some time to watch it this weekend. It’s only 8:30 minutes.
🙏 Be sure to share it with you friends……..
Well, Are You?
