I pray this past week you have asked Jesus to guide your every step……. Why? Because apart from Him you can do NOTHING! (John 15:5) What about this statement: ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE GOSPEL IS A WASTE OF TIME! I know what you are thinking, I’ve gone too far that that comment! Have I? If we are Ambassadors for Christ (belonging to a Heavenly country) ….. then, like Jesus we are in the “PEOPLE BUSINESS” …… concerned about man’s spiritual condition. The ONLY solution is what? THE GOSPEL! Whether it’s work, home or play, if it’s not Gospel Focused (Evangelism) or helping a person grow in their faith (Discipleship), then when you stand before the King of kings, are you concerned how that conversation might proceed?
“Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men……”

We couldn’t be more excited for the Zion Boot Camp this year. Here are just a few bullet points:

- OUR ACCOMODATIONS: Great News! We now have our entire venue in one location: SpringHill Suites (where we had our meeting space)

- OUR HOPE: That God changes each and every one of you, to be that “workman for the Lord” preparing for an eternity with Christ.

IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD …… and down the street
Quick Update: Remember Leo? E²Vegas.org/Friday-Mens-Group-5-5-23 Anyway, every week when he comes over, we pray before he leaves. Yesterday morning he had this big smile on his face. He said, “Dan, my wife is changing!” He now sees as we pray for his wife, God is transforming her little by little. The communication between the two of them as he said, “…..was amazing this week.” Praise God! Every time we pray, Leo gets big tears in his eyes. Thank you Lord for this precious relationship……
Wood Chips
Also on the same day, Leo ran into some guys down the street that were trimming trees using a wood chipper. He knew I needed more wood chips. So on Thursday afternoon, these (3) men showed up to my house with their truck full of wood chips. I guided them to the back lot where they dumped the load. Afterwards I spoke to the only one that could speak a little English (I didn’t have to pull up Google Translate). They were all from Mexico. I gave each of them the “Are You a Good Person” tract in Spanish (and also a few bucks). It happens every time with these guys……. As they drive off, they are always reading them. Why? Because seldom do they get anything like this in Spanish. They will be back again this afternoon with another load. We’ll see what God has in store for them later today 😊

Uh-Oh!
Men: How many times have you heard, “President Biden, I can’t believe anyone voted for that #@!&% !” If you are one of those people using foul descriptives toward the President of the United States of America, I’ve got news for you…….. you may not get a call from the Secret Service, but you will definitely get an audience with King Jesus! Why? Because God is the One who appointed him to that position! You don’t have to agree with President Biden’s morals or policies, but you better not dishonor his position as our POTUS (or any other person in leadership for that matter).

DRIFTING TOWARD DUMBNESS

Here are a few paragraphs from part three (my highlights):
……..I find it ironic that the God of Scripture warns that all men face an eternal Judgment, while today Christians argue that God does not send people to hell. Instead, such people insist that God wants His followers to ensure temporal justice in the world – the exact opposite of what the Bible teaches.
Jesus calls into question such muddled thinking when He says, “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments… He who has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me” (John 14:15, 21). God will not relate to a willful person!
It seems to me that the tragedy in all of this is, “ We have become comfortably numb.” As long as we are fed, clothed, and free to pursue our appetites, we do not really desire to think. Happiness rather than holiness, experience rather than learning, feeling rather than thinking, entitlement rather than responsibility – this is what we crave.
A sense of entitlement is the enemy of gratitude, and ingratitude is the source of sin. Without gratitude, we cannot properly relate to God. It is dangerous for the soul to think we are owed anything in life. God is looking for a broken and contrite heart and a willingness to obey. Without these elements as the focus of our lives, from a biblical perspective, what hope do we have?

PAST RELATIONSHIPS
Whatever happened to all those relationships you made in the past? You know, High School friends, work relationships, guys you served with in the military, organizations (Examples: Boy Scouts, Rotary Club, Boys & Girls Clubs, alumni associations …… ), sports teams, business and professional organizations, youth groups, etc.
Why am I bringing this up? Because you might be amazed at how well your conversation goes as you reach out to “past relationships.” First of all, they will be “blown away” that you even thought of them by picking up the phone to call. I have been doing this on a one-on-one basis with some of my High School classmates and will share some of these conversations in the weeks ahead. Some of the conversations are amazing. Take a moment and call someone today!

Remember the Boy Scout that asked if I would speak at his dad’s funeral? I recently reached out and asked if he could show me what he does with the Civil Air Patrol (CAP). Last Saturday I picked up Nick and his 9 year old daughter, Aria. We drove to the North Las Vegas airport. Nick is a Captain with CAP. The Civil Air Patrol is an auxiliary of the USAF and Nick was resourceful in utilizing this organization, to not only get his private pilot’s license, but the necessary hours to obtain his commercial pilot’s license. He is just weeks away from getting certified. It is heart-warming to see Nick’s passion for aircraft and flying.
We had a delightful morning, a great lunch at the airport café and a super discussion. By the way, you will get to meet Nick at Zion in December. He wants to join us! Nick and I are committed to staying in touch.

I watched this movie when it came out a few days ago. After watching it, a pro-choice person would be hard-pressed to agree that abortion is acceptable.
What I loved about the movie, is they primarily used the Socratic method by just asking questions…….. very few declarative statements.
