Electric Daisy Carnival • 2025
Starts Tonight
“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.
Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest
to send out workers into His harvest.”
Matthew 9:37-38
Hi Men:
I pray you had a great week and dedicated quiet time meditating in Christ.
Question: Have you reflected on this familiar verse lately?
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)
Of course you could write a thesis on this one verse. Only “through” Jesus do we receive our adoption papers and when we surrender our life to Him, God Almighty sees us as His precious children. In the process, It Will Cost You Everything, but how can you put a price tag on eternal life with Jesus? Dietrich Bonhoeffer stated, “When Christ calls a man, He bids him come and die.”
ELECTRIC DAISY CARNIVAL
Tonight, the 2025 Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) begins in Las Vegas, drawing an estimated 525,000 ravers from all 50 states and over 100 countries. It’s the largest rave concert in North America—a multi-night sensory overload of pulsing lights, pounding beats, and excessive drug and alcohol use. Techno DJs will rotate across 16 massive stages from 7pm to 5am, while Ecstasy is the drug of choice – extremely dangerous for vulnerable young women. It’s no exaggeration to call it a spiritual battlefield.
But even in the darkest places, the light of Christ shines.
Rob Myers and me on Wednesday
My friends, Rob and Colleen Myers, founders of Engaged to Go Ministries, have been faithfully ministering at EDC since it first came to Las Vegas in 2011. They are the only ministry that shares the love of Christ at the rave concerts across the USA. While the Enemy prowls, this team shows up with motorhomes, food, water, clothing—and the love of Jesus. They go armed with compassion, prayer, and the Word of God. They bring handmade bead bracelets with the link to sites specifically for ravers searching for truth and healing.
The term PLUR (Peace, Love, Unity, Respect) is a rave motto. This team turns it into a divine conversation starter, especially through the “Rave Moms”—grandmotherly women who enter the crowd to comfort and protect young women in distress. They whisper the love of Christ into their lives, speak truth over their brokenness, and help them encounter the real Jesus. As Rob told me:
“The ravers don’t realize that Jesus is not to run from, but run to.”
And that is what Rob and his team share. As a result, some ravers return home changed. They join Bible studies, attend retreats like Camp 33, and begin to disciple others. And it all started because someone chose to go. Even though the EDC is the largest, Rob and his team have been praying for 14 years for volunteers from Las Vegas churches. Still none….. but his teams come from out of state to confront this darkness. As Jesus said in Luke 9:23–24, the cost of following Him is real. Denying ourselves. Taking up our cross. Following Him into hard places.
EDC is not just a concert—it’s a Global Mission Field. And there are faithful laborers there. If you do Facebook, you can join here
Please pray for Rob & Colleen and their team this weekend.
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
– John 1:5
IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD
FINALLY!
I have been trying to catch-up with my garbage man for many months. I hear him coming and by the time I get my stuff together, he’s already down the street. This time, I was prepared. I had the following all ready:
I grabbed my tracts and raced out the front door and around my Oleander bushes. He was already starting to drive forward after emptying my dumpster. I waved to him, hoping he would see me from his side mirror……. HE DID & STOPPED.
It was totally worth the wait. He couldn’t have been nicer as I started visiting with him…. he even turned off his engine. His nickname is “Junior” and he is from Chihuahua, Mexico. I told him what a fantastic job he is doing, dumping all the stuff that’s been in our dumpster. He has been our guy for a couple years (in the past he would come when we were in the middle of our Friday Men’s Group).
Anyway, he was totally receptive to everything I shared with him. I even pointed to the tree where I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ. I could tell he was blown away. He said his faith is marginal and goes to church sometimes with his wife and 2 kids (he has a son and daughter). I told him about the Gospel and asked if he had ever heard the term, “Born Again?” He had and I said, “I hated that term……… until it happened to me!” I explained all the tracts and he really wanted them and was super grateful. Then I gave him a handful of cash for doing such a great job all these years. He was grinning from ear to ear! I know I will be talking to him again……. What a blessing!!
NEXT TIME: Allen, the UBER Driver
Men…… get in the game. It is so much fun!
Thank you Jesus for who You are and what You have done!

I Will Pray, But Have You Actually Shared the Gospel With Them?
If you are not “strong in grace” it is not because you lack it; rather it is because you have not appropriated what He has given you.

Staring Death in the Face
Does theology matter? You’d better believe it. In such moments, it means everything. This was also evident at Grandma’s wake service. The associate pastor from her Roman Catholic parish offered a homily: “Because Grandma was a good person, we can be sure that she is in heaven. And since she is now in heaven with Jesus, she serves as our connection to God. Therefore, we ought to pray to Grandma and let her bring us to Jesus.” It was a theological (and pastoral) train wreck.
The Dark Shadow on the Short Grave
God promises that none of our pains is meaningless and that not one of our sorrows is purposeless. Rather, he works through them all to carry out his will and sanctify his people. This brief reflection from an old author has often comforted me in times of grief. It does not mean to tell why God takes those we love, but it does mean to remind us of what he accomplishes within us through our losses.
As the great Friend of children stooped down and leaned toward the cradle, and took the little one in his arms and walked away with it into the bower of eternal summer, your eye began to follow him, and you followed the treasure he carried, and you have been following them ever since. And instead of thinking of heaven only once a week, as formerly, you are thinking of it all the time, and you are more pure and tender-hearted than you used to be, and you are patiently waiting for the daybreak.
It is not self-righteousness in you to acknowledge that you are a better man than you used to be—that you are a better woman than you used to be. What was it that brought you the sanctifying blessing? Oh, it was the dark shadow on the nursery; it was the dark shadow on the short grave; it was the dark shadow on your broken heart; it was the brooding of a great black trouble.

Audio Teaching of the Week:
Men, this is a great teaching…. “Are you laboring for the eternal or are you laboring for the temporal?”
Are You a True Follower of Jesus?
— By Joe Stowell
“Unfortunately, some who call themselves followers of Jesus continue to live in the ways of the world. We’re not quick to forgive. We don’t want to love our enemies. We don’t like the thought of giving our resources to advance His Kingdom when it requires personal sacrifice. We don’t care about the poor and broken. We would rather love ourselves than love others. We are quick to be critical of and grumpy about things that violate our preferences. We tend to be short on mercy and stingy on grace. And often we see sinners as a group to be shunned and judged instead of candidates for the redemptive love of Christ.”
