Bacterial Flagellar Motor
One of Nature’s Most Sophisticated Molecular Machines
Hi Men:
Let’s see…….. we have the:
- Super Bowl
- Winter Olympics
- 84-Year Old Grandma Kidnapped
- Bad Bunny vs. Kid Rock
- U.S. / Iran / Israel / Gaza
- Horrific Slaughter in Nigeria
- Ukraine / Russia War
- Epstein Naughty Files
- AI Acceleration
- CCP Military Purges
- Gigantic Cosmic Discoveries
- Etc…. etc…. etc
And………. then we have JESUS!
Jesus said, “I am the WAY, and the TRUTH and the LIFE. NO ONE comes to the Father except through ME.” (John 14:6)
All those bullet points above are temporal and passing away. Plus you have little to no control over any of them. For some of you they steal your peace and keep you up at night.
How about JESUS? If you repent and TURN from your SIN, surrender your life and make JESUS Lord, you get to spend ETERNITY with Him. That blows my mind! So here’s the question: “How much time are you spending “in” Him vs. everything else?”

It is amazing how many people deny the existence of a Creator. The Bacterial Flagellar Motor is so complicated, here are just a few facts…. BUT FIRST watch this short 20 second video from
Smart Biology.

Some of you may remember the molecular machines we had in the Friday Letter: E2Vegas.org/friday-mens-group-8-6-21
The one above is another one. They just boggle your mind. Check this out:
- It is a literal rotary engine—with a rotor, stator, drive shaft, bushings, and propeller—built at the molecular scale.
- It is constructed from 25–30 distinct protein parts, assembled with atomic precision inside a living cell.
- The motor spins at 6,000–18,000 RPM, with some species reaching nearly 100,000 RPM—faster than a Formula 1 engine.
- It operates at close to 100% efficiency
- It can instantly reverse direction, shifting from clockwise to counterclockwise rotation without grinding gears or losing torque.
- It is powered not by electricity, but by a proton or sodium ion gradient—a biological battery converting chemical flow into mechanical motion.
- The drive shaft transmits torque to a flexible universal joint that bends without breaking, allowing propulsion through fluid.
- The entire system self-assembles, self-repairs, and begins functioning the moment it is built—without instructions, tools, or external guidance.
I like this comment:
If someone found a wristwatch working in the middle of a desert, they wouldn’t say, “Wind and sand assembled this over time.” They would say, “A craftsman was here.” The bacterial motor is billions of times more complex than a wristwatch.
Then some worldly PhD will say: “The complexity of life is not evidence of the existence of God.” The reason they make these statements is because they are spiritually blinded. Only the Living God can lift the veil of darkness.
“The god of this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ.”
(2 Corinthians 4:4)
IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD

Meet Kenny and Lorenzo. They were unloading three-wire bales of alfalfa, stacking them four bales high like they were straw. If you’ve never handled one, a three-wire bale weighs about 110 pounds. These guys made it look easy.
I was up in my office getting the tracts together and noticed they were already finished and loading up their truck to leave. I raced out and stopped them. “Hey guys, do you have a second? I’ve got something for you, if you would like it.” Then I said, “Have you guys received your packet of $100 million yet?” They laughed. I said, “Nah… this is way better than that. It’s the Gospel of John.” I asked them if they’d ever heard the term gospel and whether they could explain what it meant. They couldn’t. I smiled and said, “That’s okay…I couldn’t either.”
I asked about their spiritual background. Kenny said he was Catholic. Lorenzo just shook his head. I told Kenny that as a Catholic I heard the word gospel all the time, but if someone had asked me to explain it, I wouldn’t have been able to.
That opened the door. I shared that I was a blue-blood Catholic growing up, went to Mass daily for quite a while, and even planned on becoming a priest, traveling to a seminary in Tucson. But, life took a different turn. I got married, and over time things spiraled out of control… so badly that I was planning suicide. I pointed to a tree in my backyard and said, “When I was 40 years old, right over there, crying uncontrollably at 2am, I surrendered my life to the Lord Jesus Christ, and everything changed.” I told them, “I’m going to be 75 this year, and I wouldn’t lie to you guys. That decision was the most amazing thing that has ever happened in my life. Whenever I get the opportunity, I have to share this incredible news.”
They were riveted, both of them. Especially Kenny, the Catholic…. totally focused. I walked them through what was inside the Gospel of John packet: Steps to Peace with God, Are You a Good Person, the Million Dollar Bills in the back, and some Spanish tracts for friends or family. Then I opened the front and said, “Of course, I’ve got to take care of you guys too,” and handed them a significant tip.
They were blown away by the conversation and thanked me sincerely for the tract material. We ended up hugging…… all three of us. It was one of those moments divine appointments that can happen, yes……. right In Your Own Backyard.

P.S………If you noticed your neighbor’s garage was on fire, and you knew he slept during the day, would you shrug your shoulders and walk away? Of course not. You’d do whatever it took, even if it meant breaking his door down, to wake him up and get him out.
So why do we hesitate when we know people’s inner house is on fire… when they are headed toward a horrific godless eternity—and we remain silent?
“You keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on You,
because he trusts in You.”

Let’s review a most important verse:
“And now brothers, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” (Phil 4:8)
Based on what we discussed above, where are you fixing your thoughts?
Men:
Make sure you read this carefully and pass it on. If you want to read what Jonathan Edwards said about Hell, scroll down to the part that says, “Do Not Read This” (You Are In Danger). Here is just one of Edward’s 70 resolutions:

Precious Words
by Jim Gustafson | Jan 12, 2026
Men: I missed seeing this article by our brother Jim Gustafson. It is so good. Check out this verse and profound comment:
Because you are precious in my sight, Since you are honored and I love you, I will give other men in your place and other peoples in exchange for your life” (Isaiah 43:4).
God considers His people so precious to Him, He privileges them by inviting them to participate in His redemptive work by giving their lives to other people in order to gain their souls!

Super Bowl Nightmare

“My pimps would let me sleep whenever we didn’t have customers. It’s the worst thing to be woken up from a nightmare only to have the real nightmare continue. Or when you hear the other girls getting beaten or slapped or cussed at while their bodies and souls are crushed in two.”
Men:
I debated on sending this, but modern day slavery is real for young girls and boys. This is a story about Hope and her experiences during Super Bowl Sundays.

Also, there is a movie that was just released: “STILL HOPE” It shines a light on the reality of child exploitation and the hope of healing.

How To Make the Devil Shout for Joy
by Tim Challies

Jesus triumphed over Satan at the cross, and though Satan’s doom is sure, he remains dangerous even in his death throes. He is active in our lives, still the tempter, still the adversary of God and his people. “Be sober-minded; be watchful,” warns Peter. “Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8).
If the God-given means of grace are the habits through which we enjoy Christ, and the habits through which we grow in knowledge and obedience, we should expect the devil to do all he can to keep us from them. He will do what he can to interfere or to influence us away from the Bible, away from prayer, and away from worship and fellowship.
As we fall away from the company of our brothers and sisters, as we grow distant from the voice of God through his Word, as we grow lackadaisical in speaking to God through prayer, Satan smiles, he laughs, he shouts for joy. Our sorrow is his pleasure. As Corrie Ten Boom says, “When a Christian shuns fellowship with other Christians, the devil smiles. When he stops studying the Bible, the devil laughs. When he stops praying, the devil shouts for joy.” But all is not lost, for “resist the devil, and he will flee from you,” says James (James 4:7). We must resist him, and we can resist him, for Satan has no authority over those who are in Christ.
