Apollo 8: Christmas at the Moon
Christmas Eve 1968 – Genesis 1:1-10
Hi Men:
I pray these verses impact you as I was impacted…………
(Jesus praying to His Father)
“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.”
(John 17:22-23)
When reading the above familiar verses from John the other day, I was struck by just how profound they truly are. When you a few minutes of quiet time, read all of Chapter 17. I think you will see what I am referring to.

[Quote from L. Field on Twitter]: “On Christmas Eve 1968 Astronauts Frank Borman, Jim Lovell, and Bill Anders recited the first 10 verses of Genesis in a broadcast from space. It’s one of the greatest moments in history. I’ve heard the recording many times—but I’d never heard them discuss HOW it happened till now: https://twitter.com/i/status/1474566738566127619

FARM GIRL IN THE MAKING
Only due to God’s Grace, this has been a busy and wonderful week for Jane & me with our boys, daughters-in-law and grandkids in town, and……… so as not to bore you, let me leave you with just one photo as I was showing my (2) granddaughters how to properly dump horse manure (skubala). This photo is Olivia doing a “precision” dump.
I pray 2022 is the year we all bring the greatest glory to our Savior, Jesus Christ…..
Happy New Year Men!

“He must increase, but I must decrease.”

None of Self and All of Thee
Theodore Monod – 1875
Oh, the bitter pain and sorrow
That a time could ever be,
When I proudly said to Jesus,
“All of self, and none of Thee.”
Yet He found me; I beheld Him
Bleeding on th’ accursed tree,
And my wistful heart said faintly,
“Some of self, and some of Thee.”
Day by day His tender mercy,
Healing, helping, full and free,
Brought me lower while I whispered,
“Less of self, and more of Thee.”
Higher than the highest heaven,
Deeper than the deepest sea,
Lord, Thy love at last has conquered:
“None of self, and all of Thee.”

A few quotes on the Bible
The Bible was not given to increase our knowledge but to change our lives. D.L. Moody
An honest man with an open Bible and a pad and pencil is sure to find out what is wrong with him very quickly. A.W.Toze
A Bible that’s falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn’t. Charles Spurgeon
The vigor of our spiritual life will be in exact proportion to the place held by the Bible in our life and thoughts. George Mueller
Be very sure of this – people never reject the Bible because they cannot understand it. They understand it too well; they understand that it condemns their own behavior; they understand that it witnesses against their own sins, and summons them to judgment. They try to believe it is false and useless, because they don’t like to believe it is true. J.C. Ryle
Men: I hope this last devotional of the year challenges your thinking……
A Teachable Spirit – Red Book Day 366

Solomon said, “As a man thinks, so is he”
This was shared by one of the brothers that Walt gave us a number of years ago:
“A person takes into eternity the essence of what he is”
You sow a thought and reap an act.
You sow an act and reap a habit.
You sow a habit and reap a life.
You sow a life and reap an eternity.
