“Oh, the depth of the riches, both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!  For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who became His counselor?  Or who has first given to Him, that it would be paid back to him?  For from Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.”
(Romans 11:33-36)

Hi Men:

I thought it best if I gave you a short Zion report.  This year we had a full house ready to attend our conference.  Unfortunately with the continued restrictions for events in the state of Utah, we had no option but to cancel.  It was really a bummer, but realistically no huge surprise as we look around this world of ours and at first take it appears the wheels are coming off the axles………. and that will occupy our mind as long as we keep looking horizontally.  The God that created the cosmos or carved out those amazing mountains above, not only gave us those jaw-dropping verses, but also said, “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:21:23).  Try to spend some time this weekend reflecting on these verses.  As a matter  of fact, memorize them.  Think about these (3) thoughts from the Romans verse above………. For from Him, and through Him, and to Him are “all” things  ….. So tell me, what are we missing?   If you believe the Bible is God’s perfect word, then why are you so preoccupied with current events?  God is either: (#1) 100% in control of everything – not one uncontrollable electron in the Universe or (#2) God is not in control and sitting on the edge of the Universe biting His fingernails.  What is your choice……. #1 or #2?

Switching gears, I received Lee Yih’s “Annual Layman’s Foundation Newsletter” in the mail the other day.  As most of you know, Lee was to be one of the speakers at Zion and one of the topics he was going to speak on was “Marriage.”  You will see in his newsletter (attached) he has some very encouraging words.  Lee & Miltinnie have (3) grown children, David, Christie and Mike.  Their son David is severely autistic.  By God’s grace, they have an amazing E² (Evangelism & Edification/Discipleship) ministry to the Chinese.  But for right now, I want to focus on a few of the comments that Miltinnie made in the newsletter:

“A woman can only submit to her husband if she believes that God is greater than any mistake her husband can make.”

“Satan relishes that everyone wants to have sex, just not in the marriage.  But God invented sex for marriage.  When you tend to this marital relationship, you are doing Spiritual Warfare!  Your passion in bed is an extension of your passion for life, so don’t deprive one another.”

I encourage all of you to read the annual letter.

In 2014, Miltinnie wrote the book “A Pearl Necklace under the pen name of Mi Xue.  When my wife Jane read the book, she was so touched by it, that she organized a book club to read it, then discuss it.  A year later, Lyle Brennan’s wife Connie invited Miltinnie to Las Vegas to make a presentation at the Brennan home.  Here is a photo from 2015 of the ladies that attended the book club and Miltinnie’s presentation at the Brennan’s in 2016:

If you want to know more about the ministry of Lee and Miltinnie Yih, you can read an introduction letter my wife asked me to write prior to the Pearl Necklace Book Club gathering.  Men, as you know, so many Christian marriages are in trouble primarily due to the fact that both the husband and wife do not take God at His word.  So many are influenced by today’s cultural norms.  Biblically speaking, Christ is the head of the husband and the husband is the head of the wife. But so many men have abdicated their responsibilities.  “The husband is to love his wife just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her” (Eph 5:25) and “so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.” (Eph 5:24)  If these commands are off-center, the marriage suffers and will ultimately erode.

“When all has been heard, the conclusion of the matter is this: Fear God and keep His commandments, because this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, along with every hidden thing, whether good or evil.”  (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14)

I bet you thought I was going to forget to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving.  I pray yesterday you all had a delightful day with family and friends.  A dear brother in Long Island, NY reminded me of Walt’s devotional on “Gratitude.”  I couldn’t think of a more appropriate devotional than this one for this week.  Take some time to reflect on it.

Gratitude – Blue Book Day 292
The purpose of these devotionals is to help you think Biblically

Solomon said, “As a man thinks, so is he”

Video of the Week:

The Fanny Crosby Story  – 46 Minutes

This is the story of the blind hymn writer, Fanny Crosby.  She wrote over 10,000 hymns!  One thing that struck me was the fact that even though she was involved in her church and activities, it wasn’t until the cholera epidemic in 1834 that she actually questioned if she truly had a relationship with Christ.  You and the family will enjoy this video.

Just for fun, click on the photo.  It’s a 15 sec. video taken about 7 days ago near Angel’s Landing at Zion.
Angel’s Landing is a pretty strenuous and scary hike, but the views are stunning!
