RADIOLARIAN
What on Earth is That? One Cell Built This?

NOTE: ZION REGISTRATION OPENS THIS WEEKEND
WATCH YOUR EMAIL!

Hi Men,
I pray your week was one of trusting in the sovereignty of God. He is in control, and always has been. The headlines change by the hour, but King Jesus does not. Keep your eyes fixed on Christ and on eternity. He is our only hope.

At the same time, we are not indifferent to the suffering around us. We are commanded to remember our persecuted brothers and sisters “as though in prison with them” (Hebrews 13:3). I just saw this report on the recent atrocities in Nigeria. Please take a moment and pray for them.

PHOTO ABOVE

Until this week, I had never even heard of a radiolarian. A dear brother in New Mexico sent this to me after seeing them on the Bible Creation website. He too had never heard of them. I started asking a few other guys — same answer. And yet these astonishing microscopic creatures are found throughout the world’s oceans.

How many jaw-dropping wonders of Almighty God surround us that we never even know exist?

Take a close look at the photos above and below. What you are looking at was constructed by ONE microscopic cell.

Here are just a “few” facts that blew me away:

  • ONE CELL BUILT THIS: A radiolarian is a single microscopic cell — yet it can construct an extraordinarily intricate three-dimensional skeleton.
  • IT BUILDS WITH “GLASS”: Many radiolarians build their skeletons from silica—the same basic material found in glass, forming spheres, cages, lattices, pores and spines.
  • TINY: Many are only about the width of a human hair and smaller than a grain of sand. Yet look at the architecture packed inside!
  • ITS OWN BLUEPRINT: Different kinds build their own distinctive designs, some spherical, some cone-shaped, some almost mechanical-looking.
  • IT’S A PREDATOR: This one cell extends microscopic projections through openings in its skeleton to capture and consume prey.
  • SOME USE SOLAR POWER: Many contain photosynthetic algae that harvest sunlight and provide nutrients to their radiolarian host.
  • AND WE’RE STILL DISCOVERING THEM: A major 2025 scientific study concluded that roughly half of radiolarian diversity has not even been morphologically described.

One microscopic cell. A glass-like skeleton. Intricate architecture. A predator. And a world of them most of us never knew existed.

“O LORD, how many are Your works!
In wisdom You have made them all.”
— Psalm 104:24

MEN — DON’T KEEP THIS TO YOURSELF: Show these radiolarians to your kids and grandkids. What a great opportunity to point them to the amazing wonders of our Creator.

IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD

What the Heck?

While visiting my son and grandkids in Carson City, we took them to the latest Paw Patrol movie. As we were leaving, I tossed a few Ten Commandment coins on the ground. They made a little ring when they hit, and one of my grandkids immediately asked, “Grandpa, what was that?”
I told him, “Those are Ten Commandment coins. We don’t always have to hand one to somebody. Leave a few where people will notice them—and trust me, they will pick them up.”
On one side are the Ten Commandments; on the other, the Gospel. The same idea works with the million-dollar bills.
Evangelism doesn’t always have to be complicated.

Grateful Slave to King Jesus,
Dan

“I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and delivered Himself up for me” (Galatians 2:20)

“Never allow your theological presuppositions to
blind you from what a simple blind man saw”

Men:
We must be careful that our theological convictions never become a box in which we try to confine God. My mentor once told me, “Dan, I never want to tell the Holy Spirit what He can and can’t do.” The remarkable testimonies coming from the persecuted church should humble us enough to retain the simple faith of the blind man: “One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.”

Two Lives

by Jim Gustafson | Aug 16, 2026 | Articles, Mentors Corner |

“This temporal life disappoints. It is empty, void of any legitimate hope and meaningful purpose. Ecclesiastes describes it as vanity, it is like a wasteland. It promises much, but delivers only enough to keep you pursuing.”

Men:
Take a moment and read this. Take some notes and pass it to another brother. So good!!

“…..and they worshiped and served the creature
rather than the Creator…”
Romans 1:25

SO… WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?

LEFT: The newly dedicated Virgin Mary monument in Konotopie, Poland — 182 feet tall, making it the tallest Marian statue in Europe. She is often called, “Queen of Heaven”

RIGHT: The Sendai Daikannon in Japan — A 330-foot Buddhist figure commonly called the “Goddess of Mercy.”

Exodus 20:4–5 — God commands us not to make an image for the purpose of bowing down to it.

Deut 4:15-16 – Moses warns Israel not to make an image in the form of a man, woman, animal, bird, or anything in creation

1 Tim 2:5 – “For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus”

There is not one mediator plus Mary, the saints, or anyone else; Scripture declares there is “one mediator…Christ Jesus.” Why would we ever dare provoke the wrath of God by placing anyone alongside the One He has appointed — His own precious Son!

Nabeel Qureshi (1983–2017)

Most of you have heard of him. He was a brilliant Christian apologist, author, and former devout Muslim who came to Christ after several years of seriously examining the claims of Islam and Christianity. He earned an M.D., along with graduate degrees from Biola, Duke, and Oxford, and later wrote the bestselling Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus.

In 2016, Nabeel was diagnosed with advanced stomach cancer and died the following year at just 34 years old.

This short video tells part of the remarkable story of what happened when this committed Muslim began honestly examining the Qur’an alongside the Bible—and encountered Jesus Christ. Stick with it to the end. Powerful verses! (YouTube 2 Min)

Founder of HOPE FOR PRISONERS charged with 20 sex related crimes

President Trump honors Jon Ponder – 5/3/2018

Eight years ago, at the White House National Day of Prayer, President Trump publicly honored Jon Ponder, telling the remarkable story of his conversion in prison and the ministry he founded, Hope for Prisoners, which had a nationwide impact, until……

Fast-forward to yesterday morning……..

Ponder appeared in Las Vegas Justice Court facing 20 criminal charges, including sexual assault and sexual abuse of a prisoner. Bail was set at $200,000. News Coverage

What a sobering warning for every one of us. No testimony, ministry, reputation, position or years of apparent faithfulness makes any man immune from temptation and the devastation of sin.

“Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed that he does not fall.”
1 Corinthians 10:12

A dear brother in Colorado and myself are reading J.C. Ryle’s “Morning and Evening” devotional. He said, “Dan, turn to November 5th and read what Ryle said about Judas Iscariot … chilling:

Judas Iscariot ought to be a standing beacon to the church of Christ.
This man, be it remembered, was one of the Lord’s chosen apostles. He followed our Lord during the whole course of his ministry. He forsook all for Christ’s sake. He heard Christ preach and saw Christ’s miracles. He preached himself. He spoke like other apostles. There was nothing about him to distinguish him from Peter, James and John. He was never suspected of being unsound at heart. And yet this man turns out at length to be a hypocrite, betrays his Master, helps his enemies to deliver him up to death and dies himself ‘a son of perdition’ (John 17:12). These are fearful things, but they are true.

We say we believe in the power of prayer.
But does the time we actually spend praying prove it?
