ZION BOOT CAMP
December 5-7, 2025
Hi Men:
I pray your week went well and you had more intimate time with Jesus Christ.
Some of you might be wondering why I’m showcasing Zion Boot Camp, since it is still over 3 months down the road. I have been getting requests from men that are already booking their airline reservations and asked if they could register at the same time. So there you have it. Registration is now open!

Let’s Revisit the Mantis Shrimp
Remember the amazing Mantis Shrimp from the 8/1/25 Friday Letter. Well, guess what? My dear friend David Pienkowski sent me an email and gave me permission to share his note with you. Some of you remember David when he flew in from Kentucky to help us at the “Whose Job is the Ministry” conference. David is an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Kentucky [Link]
Check out what David is going to assign to his graduate students:
Dan,
Thanks for the mantis shrimp example. What an incredible creature! It’s an amazing manifestation of the power, wisdom and omnipresence of the One who can create galaxies by speaking them into existence, and simultaneously on such a small scale create a creature like this with such extraordinary properties.
🔷It’s also a great basis for a student assignment🔷
Specifically, I will use the example of the mantis shrimp “club” in my upcoming graduate biomaterials course. Students will be assigned to study the formation, composition, structure and mechanical properties of the mantis’ club. Likely we cannot make titanium carbide or other tools that work as well as the mantis’ club. Similarly, the resilin protein found in some insects has a protein that stores energy (and can release it explosively) better than man’s best materials used for watch springs and the like. Again a manifestation of His incredible glory, might, wisdom and power.
There was more to his email, but you guys get the point. Pretty cool huh?
IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD – OR FRONT YARD!
Meet Terrence. After my son, Mark, had his head-on collusion (if you missed it, here it is: Mark’s Collision – 13 seconds), I thought it might be wise to get a dash cam like Mark had. I found a guy that has been installing them for over 18 years and even COMES TO YOUR HOUSE!
Terrence couldn’t have been nicer and super professional – the installation was superb.. After he finished, he was showing me how it works, while sitting in the front seat of my Ford Explorer. That’s when I asked him if he had any spiritual background. He said, only when he was kid. He has four children under the age 16. I had time to go through my tracts with him and shared my testimony (you know my line of questions by now, asking him if he every heard the term, “Born Again” – etc). He wanted everything I had and said his kids will really like the Million Dollar Bill. I had a stack for them. Terrence even seemed interested in the Zion Men’s Conference. I will be circling back with him for sure. I had a serious tip for him — he was happy!
Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you.”

Delighteth In Obedience
by Craig McAndrews | Aug 19, 2025
“Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in His commandments” – Psalm 112:1 (King James)
Psalm 112 paints a picture of obedience that is joyful, complete, and prompt. It’s not duty-driven; it’s desire-driven. And it flows from a heart that rightly fears the Lord.
To fear the Lord is to embrace His greatness, His holiness, His justice, and His love. When we see Him clearly, His commands aren’t restrictive—they are life-giving. They are wisdom from the One who knows us best and loves us most.

A Third of Gen Z Have Been Aborted
Sobering!
Gen Zers are roughly 13 to 28 years old
The Staggering Loss of Gen Z Lives to Abortion
- Nearly 28% of Generation Z never got to be born—that’s about 26 million children in the U.S. alone between 1997–2020. Globally, the total climbs into the hundreds of millions.
- Tens of millions per year globally—between 50–56 million abortions annually in the late 1990s through early 2010s. Over Gen Z’s birth years (1997–2012), that equates to 800–900 million unborn children.
- Population comparisons for scale:
– That’s five times more deaths than all wars in human history combined.
– Ten times the fatalities of World War II.
– Roughly equivalent to erasing every person in the United States (340M) and South America (440M) combined. - In some nations, nearly half of all Gen Z pregnancies end in abortion. For example, in the UK by 2021, 48% of pregnancies among women 15–24 ended in abortion (up from 34% in 2012).
- Gen Z’s cultural mindset tilts pro‑abortion. Surveys show between 61% and 73% of Gen Z young adults (ages 18–29) in the U.S. support legal abortion—evidence of a worldview far from God’s design for life.
Reflection for Christian Men
- Each of those numbers represents a real child, knit by God (Psalm 139:13–16).
- Imagine the spiritual, cultural, and relational impact of nearly a billion missing lives—siblings, friends, innovators, pastors, missionaries, fathers, and mothers who never entered history.
- As protectors, leaders, and disciple‑makers, men must grieve this loss, but also stand boldly for life in both conviction and compassion.
10 things boomers did as kids that Gen Z wouldn’t survive a day doing
Men: These were so good. I could comment on all of them, but I really reflected on #8. I could totally relate. As a kid in Wyoming, me and buddy Mike Waters, would go on hikes and find huge red ant hills. Man we had fun watching them and getting them riled up. We also built a secret raft on a pond and pretended to be pirates 🏴☠️ No Phones, No Devices, No Radio, No Music…… just our imagination.

“LET US MAKE MUCH OF CHRIST”
This was too good to pass up!
“Forever let us make much of Christ in all our religion. We can never trust Him too much, follow Him too closely or commune with Him to unreservedly. He has all the power in heaven and earth. He is able to save to the uttermost all who come to God by Him. None can pluck us out of the hand of Him who is who is one with the Father. He can make all our way to heaven bright and plain and cheerful like the morning sun cheering the traveller.”
