God’s Amazing Design: The Elephant’s Trunk

“For My hand made all of these things,
so they all came into being, declares the Lord”
Isaiah 66:2

🔹PLEASE PRAY FOR THE SOUTHWEST MEN’S RETREAT THAT STARTS TONIGHT🔹

Hi Men:
In light of the massive amount of things going on around this globe of ours, my prayer is that you’ve had quality and quantity of time looking up☝ and reflecting on your life “in” Christ. This is such a great promise from Jesus:

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”
John 14:27 (NLT)

PHOTO ABOVE

A little over 2 years ago, I included an 8 min YouTube of the amazing Elephant’s Trunk. If you missed it, Here It Is Again.

I just had to write about it again after I read a recent article in Creation Magazine. Here are some of the highlights of “The Elephant’s Trunk”….

  • 40,000 muscles — no bones, just pure precision strength and flexibility.
  • Can rip a tree branch yet gently pick up a single blade of grass … or even uncork a bottle.
  • Engineers at FESTO tried to copy it for a robotic arm (“Bionic Handling Assistant”), but even with modern tech they couldn’t come close.
  • The trunk can hold 12 quarts (14 liters) of water at once—like a built-in firehose!
  • Works as a snorkel when swimming up to 7 feet underwater, thanks to unique lungs God designed to handle pressure.
  • By lifting its trunk like a periscope, an elephant can smell a snake hundreds of yards away or sense water 12 miles away.
  • Trunks even “hear” by sensing vibrations in the ground and communicate with trumpets, rumbles, and gestures.

Engineers can’t replicate what God spoke into being. The elephant’s trunk isn’t an accident of evolution—it’s a divine masterpiece.

“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made.” (Romans 1:20)

IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD…..

Gospel Encounter at the Post Office

Before leaving for the post office on Wednesday, I prayed, “Lord, if there’s anyone You want me to talk to, I’m available.”

It’s only a mile walk, so I headed down. At the counter, the agent Letitia began weighing my package when I realized I didn’t have my wallet. I told her I had Google Pay but had never used it on my phone. She kindly started to help me set it up, but as the line grew, I stepped aside. By the time I figured it out, the line was gone. Letitia showed me how to finish the payment, and it worked….. yay!

Because there was no rush, I thanked her and said, “I have something for you.” I gave her several of my Ten Commandment Coins, some British Invasion Million Dollar Bills (with the Gospel on the back), Steps to Peace with God and Are You a Good Person? Then I shared my testimony of how Jesus radically changed my life. She was moved and said, “I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to explain all this.” She reached out and shook my hand, introduced herself as Letitia, and said, “Dan, I hope I see you again.”

As I left, I stopped under a tree to put away my materials—and guess what? I found my wallet in the lower pocket of my cargo shorts. If I’d found it earlier, I would have missed the chance to share Christ with Letitia. God’s timing was perfect, and His favor rained down that morning. Men, you never know what God is doing in a person’s life.

Humbled by His undeserved grace,

Part II – IS THE BIBLE RELIABLE?

Looking at Fulfilled Prophecies

Last week, we looked at bibliographical evidence. This week we are going to look at the accuracy and reliability of the Bible through the lens of fulfilled prophecy – God’s Word spoken centuries ahead of time, and then carried out to the letter.
Here are just a few examples that all point to Jesus:

  • Born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2) ~700 years before Christ
  • Messenger prepares the way (Malachi 3:1) ~400 years before Christ
  • Enters Jerusalem on a donkey (Zechariah 9:9) ~500 years before Christ
  • Betrayed for 30 pieces of silver (Zech. 11:12–13) ~500 years before Christ
  • Silent before His accusers (Isaiah 53:7) ~700 years before Christ
  • Hands and feet pierced (Psalm 22:16) ~1,000 years before Christ

What are the odds that one man could fulfill just eight of these? Mathematicians put it at 1 in 10[17] (17th power – 17 zeros behind it).

Picture the entire state of Texas covered two feet deep in silver dollars. Mark one with a red X, blindfold a man, and have him pick it on the first try. That’s just 8 prophecies !!

Now expand that to 48 prophecies (and Jesus fulfilled far more). The odds jump to 1 in 10[157] (157th power – 157 zeros behind it) – a number so large it’s beyond imagination. Impossible— unless God is the Author.

“I am God, and there is no other… Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things which have not been done…” [Is 46:9-10]

The Bible contains nearly 2,000 prophecies, most already fulfilled exactly as written. The ones still waiting are tied to His second coming. None of these stats matter unless you repent and believe…… As John 3:16 declares:

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

Prayer Request

The Living Water team will be in Las Vegas this Saturday to hand out the commemorative British Invasion $1,000,000 Bill. Lord willing, I will join them at the Allegiant Stadium (LV Raider Stadium) prior to the performance of Paul McCartney. Pray that thousands will receive these bills with the Gospel on the back and God will draw them to Himself, where they will see their need for repentance and surrender to our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Some of you might know, Ray Comfort, Emeal (“E.Z.”) Zwayne, Mark Spence, and Oscar Navarro were at Cal State Fullerton yesterday at the invitation of Turning Point USA to take up where Charlie Kirk left off due to his assassination. The event was called, “Speak Your Mind.”

What an amazing comment by Ray Comfort at this event”

“We have shifted our purpose to reaching the youth with patriotism, to reaching the youth with Jesus.”

Meet Jessica

A Sweet Encounter at the Reunion Icebreaker

Last night was the icebreaker party for my 55th high school reunion at Atomic Liquors in downtown Las Vegas. While my classmate Bob was ordering drinks at the bar, I struck up a conversation with a young gal covered in amazing tattoos down her arms. I asked her to tell Bob and me the story behind them, and she gladly did.

She shared that she comes from a proud Air Force family—her grandfather was in the Army Air Corps, her dad served in the Air Force, and she did too. I told her my dad was also in the Army Air Corps, and that I have brothers who served in the Air Force and Marines. That gave us a great connection.

As our conversation wrapped up, I said, “I have something for you.” I handed her a trillion-dollar bill with Lincoln on it and some of the British Invasion million-dollar bills I’ll be giving out at Allegiant Stadium this Saturday. I told her, “Flip them over—you’ll find a great message on the back. It’s the Gospel.” She wasn’t hesitant at all—she smiled, thanked me warmly, and placed them right on her purse.

She even told me that during COVID a New York Times reporter had written an article about her, calling Atomic Liquors her “living room.” Before leaving, I gave her a hug, and she said, “I hope you come in again so we can visit.”

You just can’t make this stuff up…… so good!
